Company also pledges up to $150,000 to Kids In Need Foundation
The company most famous for those yellow No. 2 pencils announces a new loyalty program to put free school supplies into the hands of those who appreciate them most: students. And in today's economy, parents appreciate that, too.
Dixon Ticonderoga Co., the world's leading supplier of quality writing and art supplies including Prang Art Markers, is kicking off the nationwide program – Prang Power – today, allowing schools to receive free writing and art supplies in exchange for UPC labels from any Dixon-family product. For details and to participate, teachers can register on Dixon Ticonderoga's special website, www.PrangPower.com.
Timothy M. Gomez, Dixon Ticonderoga's CEO, also announced plans to donate up to $150,000 through Prang Power to the Kids In Need Foundation. The nonprofit organization provides free school supplies nationwide to students most in need.
"As a corporation, we are 100 percent dedicated to quality education for our nation's youth," Gomez said. "Quality begets quality, and our nation's classrooms deserve access to our world's best pencil and other world-class writing instruments like Prang Art Markers. Working with teachers, our goal is to give students the tools they need to succeed."
Prang Power will bolster Dixon Ticonderoga's longtime support for the Kids In Need Foundation by donating $1 to the organization, up to a total of $150,000, for each administrator or teacher who enrolls in the program through June 1. Simply sign up using the promotional code KINF to ensure the registration counts toward a donation. Dixon has contributed more than $6.5 million to the Foundation since 2003.
The Prang Power program is open to all educational institutions, school organizations, teachers, administrators and parents. Schools also are encouraged to rally their communities to enroll and contribute UPC labels to benefit specified schools.
