NEW YORK, Oct 14 (Reuters) - The New York Times Co said it has given up on its plan to sell The Boston Globe and related businesses.
New York Times, in a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on Wednesday, said it was still considering strategic alternatives for the Worcester Telegram & Gazette and is determined to reach a decision soon.
The Times has been struggling to improve its finances as the recession and a shift of readers from newspapers to the Web hurts ad revenue.
