Prisa Jan-Feb ad revenue growth in line with Q4

MADRID, March 18 (Reuters) - Spanish media group Prisa said on Thursday its advertising revenue grew 3.8 percent in the year to February from a year earlier, in line with the 3.5 percent increase reported in the fourth quarter of 2009.

The highly indebted media group expects the growth to continue to the end of the first quarter, but this will not be enough to make up for a 21.5 percent slump in advertising revenue Prisa reported in the first quarter of 2009.

Prisa's sports paper AS posted a 27 percent increase in advertising revenue in the year to February, the highest rise of any of the group's divisions, followed by its Cuatro free-to-air television channel, where revenue increased 11.3 percent.

Prisa's advertising revenue fell 16 percent over 2009.
