LG-Ericsson USA (www.lgericssonus.com), the company that helps business connect with success, today announced the launch of iPECS-LIK in North America. A full-featured business communications product family designed to enable pure IP communications for demanding business applications, iPECS-LIK delivers all of the functionality of a traditional PBX with the addition of productivity-enhancing features like Unified Communications for conferencing—voice and video—data collaboration, remote and roaming user support and scalability. iPECS-LIK brings seamless communication to organizations ranging from a small 10-user office to a 1,000-user corporation, and excels in specialty application environments that require advanced communication.
Built on a fully distributed architecture that grows with a company, the iPECS-LIK system provides excellent performance with a traditional telephony interface in either a centralized or a distributed network, providing the flexibility to adapt to differing—and even changing—needs. Customer-configurable, iPECS-LIK integrates communication-enhancing applications over an IP network for truly unified communications, managed through an intuitive, easy user interface. Designed by seasoned communications technology veterans at LG-Ericsson USA, and built on a proven platform, it enables even greater peace of mind with that flexibility and scalability.
Available now through LG-Ericsson USA's certified and experienced resellers, the modular components of iPECS-LIK enable businesses, from small to large, to choose feature/function sets that meet their needs in terms of application and budget, by choosing what works for them from among the multiple gateways, terminals, phones, applications license packages and cabinets/accessories. iPECS-LIK opens communications for success with a full complement of products, including call servers, gateways, handsets software modules and all of the requisite accessories, allowing implementation of an efficient, custom, modular IP communications system that can expand with a company's needs.
iPECS-LIK Detail
The iPECS-LIK pure IP architecture is a platform for advanced IP telephony applications that streamlines business processes and improves productivity. Its complement of applications includes soft-phones (both PC and PDA-based), PC Attendant for incoming call management, Network Management, Unified Communications, Unified Messaging (with an open interface based on TAPI) and the unique Advanced Interface Messaging (AIM) for computer telephony interface with third-party applications. Specialized application support, including Micros Fidelio Property Management System (PMS) interface certification to address the needs of the hospitality market, and Skype Connect for SIP, achieves a standards-based, broadly implemented IP network interface.
Providing a comprehensive communication infrastructure, iPECS-LIK has the feature/function set that helps today's businesses communicate effectively: to collaborate internally to for excellence in product and service offerings; externally, for superior customer service.
The iPECS-LIK Call Server provides an extensive set of telephony features, from the basic (e.g., hold, transfer and video conferencing) to the advanced (e.g., least-cost routing, incoming call distribution and SIP trunking). It works with a broad portfolio of communications devices including desktop phones, iPECS Wireless LAN phones, and PC and PDA virtual phones from LG-Ericsson; with support for WiFi terminals, wireless headsets, soft phones, SLT or standard SIP terminals, and many legacy digital phones.
Designed with ease-of-use in mind, the LG-Ericsson Unified Communications System provides unified messaging capability that combines voice, instant messaging, video and fax and email messaging under a single easy-to-use intuitive user interface. Enhanced attendant call handling speeds routing of calls and communications. Advanced features like ring multiple phones, ACD supervisor, ACD statistics reporting, caller-controlled routing, caller ID routing and Station ICR provide a means to improve customer service, employee productivity and overall efficiency.
Transparent Connectivity: The iPECS-LIK supports a distributed intelligent architecture that can scale up to 1,200 channels in a single system, and the system's modular appliances and IP phones can be deployed anywhere an IP network is available. To support geographically separated offices, iPECS-LIK can interconnect over the WAN and provide seamless communications under the control of a single call server. Telecommuting employees can simply connect their IP phones or soft clients to a home network with Internet access to register for service with the iPECS-LIK system. Once connected, all features of the central call server are available, enabling companies to optimize communication costs and employee productivity.
Simple Web-Based Management: iPECS Web Admin allows network administrators and users to control all assigned appliances and terminals through a single intuitive Web-based administration and maintenance interface, with security in place to ensure that access and changes can only be made by the appropriate user. Multiple iPECS-LIK servers can be centrally monitored and managed using SNMP or LG-Ericsson's Network Management System.
Security and QoS: iPECS-LIK implements advanced encryption and tunneling techniques using the IPSec and SRTP protocols. The system supports DiffServ pre-tagging and 802.1p/Q VLAN technology to ensure the highest Quality of Service.
Unified Communication: iPECS Unified Communications Solution (UCS) supports faster decision-making by enabling users to communicate, collaborate and work efficiently. With iPECS UCS, scheduling a conference call with as many as 32 voice or six video users is a breeze, and its Instant Messaging lets two—or a group of—colleagues chat securely at will. Outbound and incoming call management via the iPECS UCS client provides detailed pop-up call notification and easy call placement, as well as peer-to-peer and multi-party conference call recording and voice file management. And the Presence feature lets users communicate availability so that callers and potential callers know when a user is away from his desk, on the phone, out of the office or just unavailable, thus helping to manage both expectations and interruptions.
Mobility: iPECS-LIK suits today's mobile workforce, with support for an array of solutions from wide-area mobile phone integration to in-building mobility with WiFi and other wireless headsets and soft clients. Its programmable flexibility means that iPECS-LIK can route calls to an office extension and a registered mobile phone simultaneously, and even enable users to make calls from their mobile phones using the iPECS resources and features available through their office extension, making communication for telecommuting and traveling workers transparent, efficient and economical: users place and receive outside calls just as they would in the office, no matter where they are.
