PROVIDENCE, R.I., March30, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Mayor Angel Tavaras and members of the Providence City Council, along with New England Patriots legend Joe Andruzzi, will join leaders from Verizon on Tuesday (April 3) to open the company's first tri-lingual FiOS store.

WHAT:

--Special guests will cut the ribbon to open Verizon's first tri-lingual FiOS retail center.

--Verizon officials will make a donation of $2,500 to Children's Friend

--Verizon also will demonstrate its new Home Monitoring and Control
service*, which enables customers to remotely control their lights, energy and
cameras in their homes.

At the new Verizon FiOS retail store, 579 Atwells Ave.

BACKGROUND: Verizon is opening the new center to enhance its service to the growing number of Spanish and Portuguese-speaking customers. At the event, Verizon will announce that it is bringing FiOS voice, Internet, and TV service to the 40 residential condo units of Eagle Square.

*Home Monitoring and Control Service provided by Verizon Online LLC, and is available for both FiOS and High Speed Internet customers.
