WASHINGTON (dpa-AFX) - LINN Energy LLC (LINE) reported a significantly narrower first-quarter net loss of $6.2 million, or $0.04 per basic unit compared with a loss of $446.68 million or $2.75 per basic unit last year.

Adjusted net income was $48.42 million or $0.25 per basic unit, lower than $62.3 million or $0.38 per basic unit reported a year earlier. On average, 13 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected earnings per share of $0.41 for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude one-time items.
