WHAT: 3M ranks in the bottom tier of the S&P100 on corporate disclosure and accountability in political spending, according to the CPA-Zicklin index. Trillium Asset Management has filed a shareholder resolution on 3M's ballot asking that the corporation refrain from political spending. The New York City Employee Retirement System consistently supports shareholder resolutions calling for comprehensive disclosure of political spending practices. The Carlton College Student Endowment Advisory Fund is supporting a resolution for better disclosure of lobbying expenditures. Common Cause and Public Citizen– members of the Corporate Reform Coalition and 99 power movement, which is engaging corporate leadership on a host of reform issues during the "shareholder spring", are planning a rally outside the shareholder meeting to support reform of political spending practices.
