Procter & Gamble:
WHAT: Get ready for the London 2012 Olympic Games and start cheering for Team USA! Help Procter & Gamble (P&G) send off Olympic Water Polo player and Los Angeles-native Brenda Villa and her mom, Rosario, as they head to London 2012 Olympic Games.
WHY: P&G is hosting the send off to remind shoppers of the important role that moms play in helping their children reach their full potential. Brenda's mom is a Mexican immigrant who, along with her husband, raised three children. Roasario never learned how to swim in her native Mexico but wanted her children to be safe in the waters of Southern California so she enrolled Brenda in swim lessons. As Brenda began to excel at water polo, Rosario encouraged her to pursue her goals and dreams in a sport that was completely unfamiliar to her.
WHEN: Sunday, June 24 from noon to 2 pm
WHERE: Costco Wholesale warehouse, 1345 North Montebello Boulevard, Montebello, California. The event is free of charge and open to all Costco members.
WHO: Brenda Villa is a world-class water polo player for U.S. National and Olympic teams. She was a member of seven World Championship teams and has two silver medals and one bronze medal from her participation in previous Olympic Games.
