WASHINGTON (dpa-AFX) - Big Lots Inc. (BIG) said it has promoted Timothy Johnson to Senior Vice President or SVP and Chief Financial Officer, as well as Lisa Bachmann to Executive Vice President or EVP and Chief Operating Officer, effective immediately, while announcing other promotions and organizational changes.
Johnson, would report directly to Fishman, would be responsible for the Treasury and Risk Management departments and would now oversee all of the company's financial activities. Johnson joined Big Lots in 2000 as Director of Strategic Planning and was promoted to Vice President, Strategic Planning and Investor Relations in February 2004. He was promoted to Senior Vice President, Finance in July 2011.
Lisa Bachmann, in her new position, would assume responsibility for Store Operations, while retaining responsibility for the Merchandise Planning and Allocation, Information Technology and Distribution and Transportation Services departments. Bachmann would continue to serve as the company's Chief Information Officer and would continue to report directly to Fishman.
In addition, Charles Haubiel II has been promoted to EVP, Chief Administrative Officer, and John Martin has been promoted to EVP, Chief Merchandising Officer. Also, the company has promoted Michael Schlonskyhas to Senior Vice President, Human Resources.
Further, Big Lots announced that Douglas Wurl, Executive Vice President, Merchandising, has resigned his position with the company.
