WILMINGTON, Del., June 15 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- DuPont Packaging & Industrial Polymers today announced a price increase for DuPont(TM) Elvax(R) EVA copolymer resin excluding terpolymers of $0.05/lb. effective July 15 or as customer contracts allow. According to DuPont, demand for high-pressure capacity polymers, including EVA resins, is strong and as a result capacity utilization has increased in recent months. The current market conditions support a price increase, which is needed in order to sustain the long-term financial health of the business and continue to meet customers'' current and future needs.
EVA resins are used in the manufacture of packaging, hot melt adhesives, and a variety of applications in the transportation, construction, and consumer goods industries. These products are manufactured at the DuPont facilities at Orange and Victoria, Texas, and its affiliates'' facilities at Antwerp, Belgium; China and Japan.
