BEIJING (AFX) - Kleenair Systems Inc, an automotive emission reduction specialist, said it has signed an agreement with US-based Airtek Inc to market its exhaust systems in China.
In a statement, Kleenair said the agreement will help it develop market opportunities in China for its CATCO(R) product line, which will be geared primarily toward the light-duty passenger vehicle sector.
Kleenair said it is looking to enter the Chinese original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and aftermarket business sectors.
No other details were given in the short statement.
To combat air pollution, China has adopted a tougher stance on vehicle emissions amid increasing car purchases nationwide.
The State Environmental Protection Administration said earlier this month that Euro III standards will be mandatory from Jan 1 2007.
