Host America cmte to probe company's July 12 press release

SAN FRANCISCO (AFX) -- Host America Corp said after Thursday's closing bell today that a special committee of directors will investigate the circumstances surrounding the company's July 12 press release. On July 22, the Securities and Exchange Commission suspended trading in the company's shares over concerns that the food services provider gave investors misleading information about its dealings with Wal-Mart Stores Inc. in the July 12 release. The Nasdaq has suspended trading of Host America's shares as it awaits additional information from the company regarding the release. The company said it is appealing a decision by the Nasdaq to delist its shares. Host America will appear before a Nasdaq listing qualifications panel Sept. 1.
