NEW YORK (AFX) -- Amazon.com said Monday that it had received advance orders for more than 1.5 million copies of "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" as of midnight on Friday. This demand made the book, which is the latest installment in J.K. Rowlings' ongoing series about the adventures of the boy wizard, Amazon.com's largest new product release ever. The company also said it lowered the price of the book to $16.99 on Saturday. Amazon.com shares closed Friday at $37.15, down 4 cents.
