COPENHAGEN (AFX) - A large majority of Danes are opposed to the idea of Turkey becoming a member of the European Union, daily Boersen reported, citing a poll carried out for it by Greens Analyseinstitut.
The poll, which was conducted last week among 1,030 Danish voters, showed that 62.8 pct were opposed to Turkey joining the EU, while 24.2 pct supported the idea. Some 7.3 pct of the participants in the survey were undecided and 5.6 pct were indifferent.
Accession talks with Ankara are scheduled to open on Oct 3.
