Amish Naturals, Inc. (OTCBB:AMNT) today announced that United Natural Foods, Inc. (NASDAQ:UNFI), the nation's largest publicly traded distributor to the natural and organic foods industry, is taking delivery of Amish Naturals' full line of organic, Amish-made, premium pastas, enabling widespread distribution to Whole Foods Market stores, Wild Oats Marketplace locations and other leading natural and organic retailers. Combined with other recently announced distributor authorizations, the move should bring Amish Naturals' products to retail shelves in all 48 continental U.S. states by mid-July.
United Natural Foods is being shipped all five varieties of Amish Naturals' organic fettuccines to its warehouses in Chesterfield, NH, New Oxford, PA, Atlanta, GA, and Iowa City, IA. The move will bring the pasta line to Whole Foods Market stores in Maryland, Ohio, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Washington DC, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee, and to Wild Oats Marketplace stores in Maine, Connecticut, New Jersey, Georgia, Tennessee and Arkansas.
UNFI's order also enables major independent natural and organic retailers in the 120-member CAP buying cooperative to purchase Amish Naturals products. UNFI also serves multi-unit industry bellwethers including New York City's Fairway Markets, suburban New York's Mrs. Green's Natural Market stores and the Carolinas' Earth Fare Natural Foods stores.
"United Natural Foods' initial order is a true milestone for our company, since it rounds out our national distribution network," said Don Alarie, Amish Naturals' VP of Sales and Marketing. "It gives industry leaders like Whole Foods Market and many others the means to order our products. It provides virtually full coverage of the critical northeast region, where 38 percent of U.S. pasta consumption takes place."
Alarie said that UNFI's order keeps Amish Naturals on track to deliver on its initial go-to-market goals and timing, and validates its overall distribution strategy.
