DALLAS (AP) - Media company Belo Corp. said Tuesday that Timothy J. Morrissey has been named president and general manager of its NBC affiliate television station in Charlotte, N.C., effective Oct. 15.
Morrissey will join WCNC-TV from the New York Times Co. Broadcast Media Group, where he served most recently as divisional vice president overseeing five network-affiliated television stations.
Also on Tuesday, Belo Corp. promoted James Aitken to president and general manager of KREM-TV and KSKN-TV in Spokane, Wash. Aitken most recently served as vice president and general manager of KASW-TV and station manager of KTVK-TV in Phoenix.
The appointments follow by a day the announcement that Belo plans to spin off its newspaper division.
Belo shares rose 21 cents to $20.36 in aftermarket trading after falling 46 cents to $20.15 in afternoon trading.
