PARIS (Thomson Financial) - Citroen recorded 1.113 mln vehicle sales in the first nine months of the year, said Gilles Michel, executive VP of Citroen automobiles at parent PSA Peugeot Citroen.
'It's a record to date for the Citroen brand and 2007 should be a good year,' he said.
Sales volume was up 2.9 pct compared with the 0.3-0.4 pct growth of the market at large, he said. European sales grew by 0.2 pct, he said.
In China 'after a difficult start to the year' a reorganisation of marketing and distribution activities are starting to show benefits.
He added that in Brazil and Argentina, where the market has grown by 27 pct since the start of the year, Citroen sales have grown by 35 pct. helen.beresford@thomson.com afp/hem/lht COPYRIGHT Copyright Thomson Financial News Limited 2007.
