"Traditionally, bands spent years touring the country in order to break into the music business. Those days are over. Many of today's biggest bands have used MySpace to quickly gain a strong fan base. Through this Web page, Cricket will help Nashville musicians pursue their dreams."
Every three weeks, Cricket features new songs categorized by genre. Featured songs are selected by local musicians, publicists and Cricket representatives. All songs are credited to the original artists and are not downloadable. Cricket encourages musicians from all genres to submit their best work. Cricket's Music Showcase also presents the "Roadie Award" each month to an artist or group that is touring.
"With so many talented musicians performing in Nashville, Music City definitely lives up to its name," said Boyce. "Cricket has discovered some of the best local music Nashville has to offer, and through the Cricket Nashville Music Showcase, we are sharing it with the world."
