STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich. (AP) - General Dynamics Corp. said Wednesday it received an $89 million contract from the U.S. Army to upgrade Abrams tanks.
Under the contract, General Dynamics Land Systems will add improved displays, sights and phone systems to 240 tanks. The work will be performed in Anniston, Ala.; Tallahassee, Fla.; Lima, Ohio; Sterling Heights, Mich.; and Scranton, Pa.
The work is expected to be completed by Sept. 2009.
Shares of General Dynamics fell 64 cents to $87.82 Wednesday morning.
