Some of the IT industry's most innovative companies will preview the latest technologies being developed in their research labs, during Gartner Symposium/ITxpo: Emerging Technologies, being held April 6-10 at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. Cisco Emerging Technologies Group, HP Labs, Sun Labs and Xerox Labs will preview a few of the emerging technologies being developed.
In the Tuesday, April 8, keynote "Look into the Labs, these technology leaders will discuss with Gartner analysts some of the new technologies they expect will change how companies use IT.
"We asked the panelists to share with our attendees some of the big ideas that will transform IT in the next few years, and to bring a ˜show and tell' that highlights a specific project or capabilities, said Jackie Fenn, vice president and Gartner Fellow. "We'll also be exploring the opportunities these changes will bring for the business.
"The Look into the Labs keynote represents leading-edge thinking from the major vendors. Attendees will get to see how the labs approach new ideas, and take home some thoughts that might change the way that they do business, said Martin Reynolds, managing vice president and Gartner Fellow.

Innovator Interview with Craig Mundie, chief of research and strategy officer, Microsoft, Corp. Mr. Mundie is responsible for Microsoft's research and incubation strategy, and along with Ray Ozzie, chief software architect, for guiding the company's overall technical direction. Mr. Mundie will discuss key issues for Microsoft and what new technologies will drive business growth.
Innovator Interview with Tom Peck, chief information officer, MGM Mirage, and Aldo Manzini, executive vice president and chief administrative officer, MGM Mirage. MGM Mirage has more than 70,000 employees across 17 global megaresorts. Mr. Peck and Mr. Manzini will explain how MGM Mirage applies technology and new management thinking to enhance customer experience at its resorts and casinos, as well as operate behind-the-scenes in the most efficient and effective way.
