UPDATE 1-Rentrak Q2 profit beats estimates

* Q2 EPS $0.08 beats estimates by a penny

* Q2 revenue rises 7 pct

* Advanced media information segment revenue rises 23 pct



Nov 4 (Reuters) - Information management services provider Rentrak Corp reported a quarterly profit that edged past Wall Street targets, helped by a 23 percent jump in revenue at its advanced media information segment.

For the second quarter ended Sept. 30, net income was $842,000, or 8 cents a share, down from $1.1 million, or 10 cents a share, a year earlier.

Revenue was $24.3 million for the quarter. Revenue at the company's advanced media information segment stood at $3.1 million.

Shares of the Portland, Oregon-based company closed at $11.41 Tuesday on Nasdaq.
