BONN (Thomson Financial) - SolarWorld AG said its joint venture with Evonik Industries AG will invest a dougle-digit million euros amount to produce solar-grade silicon from monosilan,e starting with an annual capacity of 850 tonnes.
SolarWorld said in a statement the first production plant of its joint venture company Joint Solar Silicon GmbH & Co. KG (JSSI) was inaugurated Friday in Rheinfelden.
It said compared with conventional silicon production, JSSI will use a technology that can save up to 90 percent of the energy employed.
