Silver Diner Asks: Obamalette or Mccainlette - Which Will You Choose? Diner Encourages Patrons to Vote Early - and Often - During Blueplate '08

Silver Diner is offering Washingtonians the opportunity to cast their votes early for November's Presidential election through their own contest: Blueplate '08.

By selecting from either the Chicago-style "Obamalette" or the Southwestern-style "McCainlette" from the chain's all-day breakfast menu offerings, Silver Diner is giving area residents the chance to predict the winner of the November 4^th election. The "polls" open at each of the restaurant's 15 Maryland, Virginia and New Jersey locations on Tuesday, September 30^th and will remain open through Wednesday, October 29^th.

"Everyone likes to make their opinion known - especially during election season in the nation's capitol", explains Ype Von Hengst, Co-Founder and Vice President of Culinary Operations for the Silver Diner. The Obamalette, Inspired by Barack Obama's favorite hometown food - Chicago deep dish pizza - this omelette features mozzarella, basil, tomato, grilled onions, and Italian sausage topped with parmesan cheese and fresh herbs. Served with a side of marinara sauce, seasoned homefries, and a fresh-baked Silver Diner signature biscuit.

The McCainlette, indicative of John McCain's home state of Arizona as well as his favorite way to cook - Barbecue - this omelette features honey BBQ chicken, cilantro, red and yellow peppers, and grilled onions topped with jack cheddar cheese. Served with a side of salsa, seasoned homefries and a fresh-baked Silver Diner signature biscuit.
