Tiburon, Inc. announced the general availability of a new version of its mobile data system that enhances the capability of public safety first responders to send and receive critical information from the field during emergency situations. The company made this announcement at its 19th annual user group conference in Denver.
Tiburon MobileCOM allows first responders to send and receive dispatch information, state and national database queries, and location mapping data from their vehicles.
"With MobileCOM, crucial information is immediately available to field personnel," said Jeffrey Stone, President and CEO of Tiburon. "Tiburon has built its 28-year reputation on providing innovative technology to public safety agencies to help ensure their jobs are accomplished safely and more effectively."
When used with Global Positioning Satellite (GPS) technology, police officers, firefighters, emergency medical services, and other field personnel can easily locate the emergency call on the map in the vehicle, and then allow Tiburon MobileCOM to determine the shortest route to the destination. Additionally, Tiburon MobileCOM can "reverse geocode" the location, eliminating the need to enter specific address information during officer-initiated events, such as a routine traffic stop.
To promote personnel safety, Tiburon MobileCOM also supports voice-to-text and text-to-voice translation. Built on Microsoft's .NET Framework software, Tiburon MobileCOM uses XML standards for data transmission and provides increased flexibility in data sharing and interoperability between agencies.
