A new Nike film has been released starring Bayern Munich and France attacking midfielder Franck Ribery in his Nike MERCURIAL VAPOR IV. The Nike MERCURIAL VAPOR IV is a boot that's all about speed. It has been worn by players who have raced past defenders effortlessly for the past several years.
So what's so special about this one? Well, it's decidedly PINK - a colour not usually seen on the pitch and one that demands its wearer to be lightning fast. This is a challenge welcomed by Ribery.
In the film, Ribery mimics the animated cat who made pink exceptional, the Pink Panther. The Mercurial Vapor Rosa film replicates the opening sequence of the Pink Panther TV show from the 60's and 70's. Just like the opening of the original show, the film features four segments of supersonic speed, all visible at the same time.
In one corner is the pink sports car featured in the original TV show. You see a close up of the Mercurial Vapor Rosa pressing the accelerator down to the floor and a pink license plate "˜Franck 7.' Once stopped, you see Ribery take his helmet off to reveal his face with a smile.
Another frame is all about Ribery and his Mercurial Vapor IV in action. You see him lacing his boots up, speeding up, turning and dribbling. His Vapors are at full speed.
In yet another frame, Ribery is entering the Casino with his pink Mercurial Vapor IV. You see him run the tables at the casino: triple vapors at the slot machine and the 7 wins at Roulette.
In the last frame, you can see an animated Ribery with the ball, being egged on by his coach with a megaphone. Hi Mercurial Vapor IV boots propel him, leaving his coach behind. The coach attempts to catch up with Ribery again and again on a motorbike, a dragster, a raceboat and a jet plane.
The film closes on the classic pink sparkling background of the Pink Panther, revealing a close-up of the Mercurial Vapor Rosa.
Since its inception ten years ago, the Nike Mercurial Vapor football boot has been designed for one thing only; to help footballers find the quickest route to goal.
