NEW DELHI, Dec 26 (Reuters) - Indian firms paid 22 percent less advance tax to the government in the December quarter from the same period a year ago, a finance ministry official said on Friday, indicating slower profit growth.
During the fiscal third quarter, companies paid 426 billion rupees ($8.82 billion) in advance, compared to 549 billion rupees in the same period last year.
