BEIJING (XFN-ASIA) - China B-shares finished the morning session higher, responding to strong gains on Wall Street on Friday when the local bourses were closed.
Telecom stocks posted solid gains after news that the cabinet, the State Council, approved the issuance of third generation mobile phone licenses on Dec 31.
The Shanghai B-share Index was up 2.46 points or 2.22 pct at 113.38, while the Shenzhen B-share Index rose 4.97 points or 1.83 pct to 276.25.
The FTSE/Xinhua China B 35 Index gained 83.39 points or 2.12 pct to 4,021.27.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index, which covers both A- and B-shares listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange, ended the morning up 39.04 points or 2.14 pct at 1,859.84.
