Name Change Affects Two Texas Campuses
More than 700 Texas college students will have a new name on their college diplomas: Kaplan College. As part of a broader rebranding strategy, Kaplan Higher Education has renamed both of its Texas Southeastern Career Institute campuses as Kaplan College.
“We are proud to extend the Kaplan name to these Texas campuses,” said Beth Hollenberg, chief operating officer of Kaplan Higher Education. “Texas is an important market for us, and we are committed to offering educational opportunities in some of the most in-demand employment fields in the state.”
The campuses, located in Midland and Dallas, each hosted a ceremony this week to celebrate the new name. Highlights included a ribbon cutting and remarks from the campus executives, Kaplan Higher Education executives and local officials.
By changing its name to Kaplan College, the schools are formally recognized as being part of the Kaplan, Inc. family. Kaplan is a global provider of private, non-traditional education services, and its name reflects a long-standing reputation for excellence. By renaming its campuses, Kaplan has set out to build a leading brand that can be leveraged across the United States. Through its high-quality curriculum, career-focused programs and hands-on training, Kaplan students across Texas—and the nation—are better equipped to achieve their educational and career goals.
Matt Jack, outreach representative from Congressman Kenny Marchant’s office, presented a Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition at the Kaplan College Dallas renaming ceremony. On behalf of the Congressman, Jack stated, “Education is an instrumental part of all our lives. The education earned here at Kaplan College will create our leaders of tomorrow.”
These schools have been serving the state of Texas since 1987. The campuses currently offer diploma programs. Starting today, September 16, both campuses will offer their first associate degree programs in paralegal studies or criminal justice. Additional areas of study include allied health and information technology. For more information, please see www.kaplancollege.com.
