FiberMedia, one of fastest growing providers of secure, geographically diverse datacenters and scalable managed services, finalized an agreement in April with the Visiting Nurse Service of New York (VNSNY) to house their primary data production facility and provide related managed services within one of their four Metro New York City area datacenters. VNSNY first went into live production at the FiberMedia data center in August, and substantially all of VNSNY’s information systems are operating at the FiberMedia facility as of September.
Thomas Check, Visiting Nurse Service of New York's Chief Information Officer stated: "We analyzed this relocation project and looked at potential facilities for over two years before making the decision to locate with FiberMedia. Our goal was to manage risk by migrating to a secure and dependable data center with capacity for growth in a facility engineered and maintained to the highest standards. At the end of the day, the combination of the mission-critical security and excellent data center services made this a fairly easy decision. Our organization has zero tolerance with respect to safely maintaining, processing, storing, accessing and transporting information on a real-time basis."
Chris Heim, FiberMedia's Chief Operations Officer added: "The good-sized, knowledgeable VNSNY technical team has been great to work with, and the combination of our design/build resources with their operational expertise has resulted in a highly customized, tightly-knit solution that married current needs with future growth requirements. We were able to create the required network architecture to address a complex array of connectivity hubs and imperatives."
A complete scope of production, storage and data management functions is performed at this new location.
