RBF Consulting, a civil and environmental engineering, planning, construction management and survey firm, announced today that it has been ranked #6 on the 2009 “Best Places to Work” in Orange County in the large companies category by a prominent local business journal. The prestigious award recognizes RBF Consulting for its collaborative and positive work environment, and its effective management and inventive policies that attract and retain motivated, top performing experts in their fields.
“As we celebrate 65 years of making the world a better place, we are honored that RBF Consulting has been recognized as an outstanding place to work in Orange County,” stated Bob Kallenbaugh, Co-CEO of RBF Consulting. “We take great pride in having a company culture that cultivates teamwork and believe in providing a workplace where employees feel like part of a family. This award is a testament to the exceptional employees that help make RBF Consulting a highly respected and nationally-recognized consulting firm.”
The Best Companies Group in conjunction with the Orange County Business Journal’s inaugural “Best Places to Work” program, ranked RBF Consulting sixth out of 25 in the category recognizing businesses that employ 250 or more employees. The ranking is based on responses collected from two online employee surveys and an employer questionnaire used to gather information regarding benefits, policies, practices and other general information.
The goal of the Orange County Business Journal in evaluating the “Best Places to Work” is to recognize companies that promote positive working environments. Employees in each company took an online multiple choice questionnaire that tabulated their level of satisfaction with their jobs, their confidence in the future prospects of the company, trust in co-workers, manager effectiveness, work engagement, compensation and if they viewed themselves as a valuable resource within the company. The answers from the RBF Consulting employees were resoundingly positive.
In addition to being one of the “Best Places to Work” in Orange County, RBF Consulting was ranked #79 in the Top 500 Engineering Design Firms and #52 in the Pure Design Category in the April 2009 issue of Engineering News Record (ENR) Magazine. This marks the 14th consecutive year that RBF Consulting has been ranked among the Top 500 Engineering Design firms in the country. As one of the contributing elements to RBF Consulting’s work environment, the firm was recently awarded accreditation by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET), giving the firm the ability to award CEU’s (Continuing Education Units) for the many courses offered to the internal engineering, planning, and surveying team members and to clients across the U.S.
