New Solution Extends the i2 Intelligence-Led Operations Platform to Deliver Geographical Profiling, Convoy Analysis and Common Vehicle Identification Based on Data Generated by Automatic License Plate Recognition (ALPR) Systems
i2, the market leading provider of intelligence and investigation management software, today announced Plate Analysis, a new analysis solution for i2 iBase, the flexible and powerful analysis database application used by law enforcement agencies around the world. i2 further disclosed the first US sale of the solution was to a Federal law enforcement customer. The announcement was made at the International Association of Chiefs of Police 116th Annual IACP Conference and Exposition in Denver, Colorado.
This new solution quickly identifies vehicles of interest and automates the combination of automatic plate recognition data with additional sources for further analysis. Key capabilities include the identification of vehicles seen at multiple sites during specific times; those in convoy with other vehicles of interest; or vehicles that appear in multiple separate data sets. It enriches the analysis by combining the vehicle data with intelligence and law enforcement data such as information directly or indirectly connected to known criminals, or individuals on parole or watch lists.
Based on technology in regular use within UK police forces, the Plate Analysis solution is available immediately as an end-to-end solution that integrates with existing back-office ALPR systems to leverage investments already made in camera and hardware infrastructure. Users access this powerful functionality directly from within i2 iBase and can visualize and analyze the data using the world-leading visual investigative analysis software, i2 Analyst’s Notebook. Results of analysis can also be shared immediately with operational users using the Web-based i2 iBase IntelliShare. All three products form part of the i2 Intelligence-Led Operations Platform introduced last May.
