This week investors could get the clearest indication yet of whether revenues are growing again for U.S. companies as a number of bellwethers are likely to reap a benefit from the dollar's weakness.
The earnings diary features companies like chip maker Intel Corp., International Business Machines and General Electric Co that stand to benefit the most from the U.S. dollar's steep decline in the third quarter.

Markets rise ahead of earnings, on weaker dollar
U.S. stocks rose on Monday, as a weaker U.S. dollar lifted commodity and natural resource companies.
Investors also looked ahead to the release of key earnings results expected later this week.

Exco Resources rises after Stifel move
Shares of Exco Resources Inc rose on Monday, after Stifel Nicolaus started coverage on the stock with a 'buy' rating, seeing strong production growth for the company.
The firm added that the production growth would be mostly internally funded, without the need to take on more debt or tap equity markets.

Shares of Lockheed Martin Corp fell on Monday, after Cowen & Co downgraded the stock to 'neutral' from 'outperform,' saying its 2010 earnings outlook may trail average estimates of analysts.
The firm added that production of the F-22 Raptor plane has been capped, a factor that will impact 2010 sales.
