LONDON, Oct 18 (Reuters) - British mutual insurer Liverpool Victoria is in merger talks with smaller rival Royal Liver, a source familiar with the matter told Reuters.
The 166-year-old Liverpool Victoria, which recently rebranded as LV=, is the UK's largest friendly society.
Liverpool Victoria and Royal Liver both declined to comment.
