HOUSTON, Oct 18 (Reuters) - Valero Energy Corp was restarting a hydrocracking unit at the west plant of its 315,000 barrel per day (bpd) Corpus Christi, Texas, refinery, according to a notice filed on Sunday with state pollution regulators.
The unit, which uses hydrogen under high pressure to make motor fuel, was shut after a small fire on Oct. 7.
The restart began on Sunday and was expected to last through Wednesday, according to the notice filed with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.
