DUESSELDORF, Germany, Oct 22 (Reuters) - Deutsche Post DHL will shed a further 400 jobs at its DHL express delivery unit after German mail-order company Quelle, one of its big customers, went bust.
'Deutsche Post plans to shut down the logistics sites in Bochum, Lehrte and Nuremberg,' which had been exclusively handling shipments between Quelle and its customers, a spokesman for Deutsche Post said on Thursday.
The insolvency administrator of Arcandor, Quelle's troubled parent company, said earlier this week that the unit would be shut down after failing to find an investor.
Deutsche Post already announced plans to cut 560 jobs last month as a result of Arcandor's insolvency.
The mail and logistics company had handled much of Arcandor's mail-order shipping as well as warehousing and logistics for Arcandor's Karstadt department stores.
