Asian Christian Counseling & Educational Seminar Services (ACCESS), a non-profit counseling center that serves the Greater Atlanta Asian community, will host a celebration marking it's 5th Anniversary with a fundraising dinner on Saturday, November 7, 2009 at the Oriental Pearl Seafood Restaurant from 6pm to 9pm. The dinner, under the theme “Looking Back, Looking Forward,” will feature FOX 5 TV News reporter, Patty Pan, as Master of Ceremonies, and a program looking back on the past five years of service to the community by ACCESS. A ten-course Chinese banquet dinner will be served with live music performed by Eric Shin and Peter Choi.
Since opening in 2004, ACCESS has provided valuable counseling and educational services to ethnic individuals, couples, families and children/teenagers. With the Asian American population in Georgia as the third fastest growing in the nation (based on 2004 census figures), ACCESS is hosting its anniversary celebration and fundraising dinner to show appreciation to those who have helped make these first five years possible and to continue to support the organization and meet the needs of Atlanta's growing Asian community.
Executive and Clinical Director, Rebekah Wang, is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and has over fourteen years of counseling experience in Asian American communities, beginning in California. “We are very excited to celebrate our 5th Anniversary,” states Wang. “Although ACCESS is still a relatively young organization, having worked in California where the resources (for Asians) are more abundant and the service organizations further developed, and knowing what we could be like down the road, especially with the increasing needs of the rapidly growing Asian American population in Metro Atlanta, I can't help but feel both the urgency to expand our services and the excitement of the potential for the future.”
Companies and individuals are invited to attend or help sponsor the dinner. Tickets are $50 for individuals. For ticket, sponsor, or donation information, please contact the ACCESS office at 770-986-0800 or via email, at info@asianchristiancounseling.org.
