FRANKFURT, Oct 31 (Reuters) - The new chief executive of Kloeckner & Co wants to double the company's revenues within the next five years, he told a German newspaper on Saturday.
'My goal is to make Kloeckner the biggest independent steel and metals distributor in Europe and North America, one with the most efficient structure,' Gisbert Ruehl told Boersen-Zeitung.
He said the company aims to grow not only on its own but also via acquisitions.
The company is in acquisition talks and could achieve results in the foreseeable future, he added without providing details.
He expected the company to return to profitability next year but 2010 would still be very difficult, he added.
Ruehl will assume the CEO position effective Nov. 1. Keywords: KLOCKNER&CO/ (Reporting by Marilyn Gerlach) COPYRIGHT Copyright Thomson Reuters 2009. All rights reserved.
