Nov 12 (Reuters) - Canadian software provider Intrinsyc Software International Inc reported a narrower quarterly loss, as the company was able to put a lid on its expenses.
For the third quarter, the company reported a net loss of $215,743, or breakeven a share, compared with a net loss of $5.7 million, or 4 cents a share, a year earlier.
Revenue fell 44 percent to $4.4 million.
Analysts on average expected the company to breakeven, before special items, on revenue of $5.3 million, according to Thomson Reuters I/B/E/S.
Intrinsyc, which provides software for mobile handsets, smart phones, and embedded devices, said revenue attributable to its software solutions increased to 44 percent of total revenue, from 37 percent in the year-ago period.
The company said overall expenses for the quarter fell 72 percent to $2.8 million.
Shares of the Vancouver, British Columbia-based company closed at 9 Canadian cents Thursday on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
