British Rock Trio Nominated for People's Choice Award for “Favorite Rock Band”
U.S. Headlining Tour Being Finalized for Spring
Muse's current single “Uprising” has topped Mediabase's Alternative Rock chart for 10 consecutive weeks and shows no sign of slowing down.
“Uprising” is the first single from The Resistance, the British rock trio's fifth studio album, which earned the band their highest-ever debut on the Billboard album chart by bowing at No. 3. Muse's previous album, 2006's gold Black Holes and Revelations, peaked at No. 9 on the Billboard album chart. The Resistance also notched 15 No. 1 debuts around the world, including Australia, France, Germany, Italy, Ireland, and the UK.
The Resistance was produced by Muse and mixed by famed audio engineer Mark 'Spike' Stent. The band, which is vocalist/guitarist Matt Bellamy, bassist Chris Wolstenholme, and drummer Dom Howard, are currently on a sold-out tour of the U.K. and Europe. The band recently supported U2 on several American tour dates and will announce details of a spring headlining U.S. tour shortly.
In other Muse news, the band has been nominated for a 2010 People's Choice Award, which is voted on by the public, for “Favorite Rock Band.”
