REALTOR® Steve Goddard will head the CALIFORNIA ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS®'' (C.A.R.) 2010 Leadership Team, C.A.R. announced today. REALTOR® Beth L. Peerce will serve as the Association''s president-elect, REALTOR® Don Faught as treasurer, and Joel Singer as state secretary. C.A.R.''s 2010 Leadership Team began their official term this week at the close of the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® (NAR) Conference and Expo in San Diego, Calif.
REALTOR® Steve Goddard is a broker and manager at RE/MAX Marquee Partners in Manhattan Beach, Calif. He began selling real estate 35 years ago, specializing in selling and leasing residential real estate, residential income properties, and commercial buildings. Goddard also is a developer and a licensed general contractor. During the past 28 years, he has consistently ranked among the top 10 agents in his company''s group of more than 400 agents. Over the past 17 years, he has chaired or served on myriad committees and forums at the local, state, and national association level. As president of C.A.R., one of Goddard''s goals is to shed light on housing-related issues, including the rights of private-property owners, and housing affordability at the local, state, and national levels.
REALTOR® Beth L. Peerce is a broker-owner of Prime Time Properties in Studio City and also is co-owner of MB Escrow in Beverly Hills. In addition to chairing numerous C.A.R. committees, she has served on C.A.R.''s Executive Committee; as regional chair of Region 18; and as immediate past treasurer for C.A.R., where she also chaired the Strategic Planning and Finance Committee. She was appointed Honorary Director for Life in 2006 in recognition of her commitment to the industry. She is chair of the Foundation of the Southland Regional Association of REALTORS®, and was selected REALTOR® of the Year by her association in 2005. Peerce also has played an active role on the NAR board of directors since 2001, serving on the Executive Committee and as past chair of the Conventional Finance Committee.
New to C.A.R.''s Leadership Team is REALTOR® Don Faught. A licensed broker for nearly 20 years, Faught is vice president and managing broker of Alain Pinel REALTORS® in Pleasanton and Livermore Valley, Calif. He has served on numerous committees at all levels, including chair of C.A.R.''s Federal Issues Committee and vice-chair of C.A.R.''s Strategic Planning and Finance Committee. Faught also has served as an NAR Director since 2002 and as a member of the Women''s Council of REALTORS® since 1992.
C.A.R. Executive Vice President Joel Singer has held the Association''s top staff position since November 1989 after serving as C.A.R.''s chief economist and heading the Association''s public affairs department. Singer was instrumental in developing Real Estate Business Services Inc. (REBS), C.A.R.''s for-profit subsidiary, and serves as its president. He also is president and chief executive officer of RE FormsNet LLC. Singer joined C.A.R. in 1978.
