FRANKFURT, Nov 19 (Reuters) - Shares in Deutsche Postbank rose to the top of the Frankfurt midcap index on Thursday amid market talk that Deutsche Bank might speed up its acquisition of Germany's largest retail bank.

'I'm hearing talk that Deutsche Bank is going to offer 27.25 euros per share for the outstanding Postbank shares,' says a Frankfurt-based trader.

Deutsche Bank declined to comment on the speculation.

As recently as late October Deutsche Bank Chief Financial Officer Stefan Krause said there was no rush to move quickly in acquiring Postbank.

Deutsche Bank owns nearly 30 percent in Postbank, and under a deal finalised in January it has the option to acquire Postbank outright in a few years.

At 1043 GMT, shares in Postbank were 2.4 percent higher at 23.90 euros, having risen as high as 24 euros, making them the top gainers among Frankfurt's midcaps, which were 1 percent lower.

Shares in Deutsche Bank were 0.4 percent lower.
