-- Asustek Computer plans to diversify into the

robotics market by launching 'AGAiT'-branded robot vacuum

cleaners through one of its newly established affiliates, the

Economic Daily News reported.

-- Acer Inc plans to beef up its presence in China

by setting up a product research and deveopment center on the

mainland, focusing on design of desktop computers and

smartphones, the Commercial Times quoted Acer Chariman J.T. Wang

as saying.

-- Cando Corp under the AU Optronics group plans

to invest a total of T$24 billion ($743 million) to build a plant

making touch panels, with production likely starting in 2011, the

Commercial Times said.
