Over 2,000 Runners Expected for the American Heroes 5K/10K Race on Memorial Day in Arlington
As American troops return home from the War in Iraq, others will never return having lost their lives in battle. On Memorial Day in Arlington, their families, friends and comrades will run for their lives. They will participate in the American Heroes 1K/5K/10K Race to honor the lives of military soldiers who sacrificed theirs. Some 2000 runners are expected.
The American Heroes Race is a fun-filled event for families, friends and military comrades to show their appreciation for fallen, active, reserve and veteran soldiers who sacrifice in service to their country. The race takes off at 8 a.m. on May 31, 2010, from Texas Rangers Ballpark in Arlington.
Online registration is $25 before race day and $30 on site. Go to www.americanheroesrace.com. All proceeds benefit Snowball Express, a nonprofit organization that helps families of all servicemen and women who have died since September 11, 2001.(www.snowballexpress.org)
"Snowball Express is honored to join our partners at the America's Heroes Race," said Micki Sander, Board Chairwoman. "Our two organizations share a common mission, making sure the sacrifices of our men and women in uniform, their families and children are never forgotten.
"As we honor our nation's heroes this Memorial Day we want all Americans to take a moment to thank our Veterans and remember their service," she said.
