37 Organizations Supporting Seniors Receive Funds
Allianz Life Insurance Company of North America (Allianz) announced that it awarded $272,500 in grants last month to 37 charities throughout the Twin Cities community in support of services for seniors. These organizations empower seniors to be self-sufficient and reach their full potential.
The organizations include Darts, Cornerstone, Macalester-Groveland Living at Home Block Nurse Program, Vital Aging Network and The Alzheimer's Association, to name a few.
"I am proud of our employees' commitment to supporting local organizations, especially during difficult economic times," said Gary C. Bhojwani, president and CEO of Allianz Life. "Our employees are passionate about supporting our community."
In June of 2009, the company awarded $300,000 in grants to organizations supporting employment readiness and financial literacy, bringing the 2009 total to nearly $600,000.
