Liberty International Underwriters Europe (LIU Europe), a division of Liberty Mutual Group, has appointed Matthew Hogg as vice president to lead a newly established strategic assets division that will develop and underwrite a range of specialist risks. The Asian alternative investment manager said on Monday, it has appointed Wei Song as a managing director of Pacific Alliance Real Estate. Song joins from Equity International, a privately held real estate investment company, where he held the position of senior vice president, responsible for originating and executing investments in China.

The private equity firm said it has named former Morgan Stanley executive Mitch Petrick to head its leveraged finance and mezzanine business for the United States and Europe, a source familiar with the situation said late on Monday.
