HONG KONG, March 10 (Reuters) - By 0233 GMT, the benchmark
Hang Seng Index had pulled back from early gains, edging
down 0.04 percent to 21,198.20. The China Enterprises Index of top locally listed mainland Chinese stocks was up 0.11
percent at 12,223.85.
Here are some of the stocks on the move:
* CITIC Pacific was up 1.93 percent at HK$18 by
0211 GMT. The steel-to
property conglomerate, which is due to announce its earnings later Wednesday, said it was in talks with Hebei Iron & Steel to dispose of its interest in a Shijiazhuang steel mill, but no definitive agreement had been reached.
* PCCW rose 6.8 percent to a 10-month high of HK$2.36 before easing to HK$2.31 by 0224 GMT, up 4.5 percent. PCCW group managing director Alex Arena said after the fixed-line operator posted an 18 percent rise in 2009 profit , that the company's privatisation plan was dead and PCCW saw openings for growth, the South China Morning Post reported on Wednesday.
* Pacific Century Premium Developments soared 23.5 percent to HK$3, its highest since May 29, 2008, after the developer posted a 16 percent rise in 2009 profit to HK$594 million ($76.5 million).
