HOUSTON, March 17 (Reuters) - Chevron Corp said on Wednesday it expects normal operations to return soon at its 279,000 barrel-per-day (bpd) Los Angeles-area refinery in El Segundo, California.
The refinery began flaring on Tuesday due to 'issues with our instrument air system,' said Chevron spokesman Rod Spackman in a statement.
'The issues ... were corrected quickly and we should be back to normal shortly,' Spackman said.
Chevron warned of unplanned flaring at the refinery in a notice filed with California pollution regulators on Wednesday. The notice said the flaring could last through Thursday morning.
