OTTAWA, March 19 (Reuters) - Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper declined to comment on the rising Canadian dollar on Friday but noted that the Bank of Canada had expressed concerns about the risk to economic recovery posed by the currency's appreciation.
'The governor of the Bank of Canada has been very clear in statements over the past few months that the excessive or premature rise in the Canadian dollar does create, not just just creates some problems, but is a risk in terms of the recovery of the Canadian economy,' Harper told reporters in Brandon, Manitoba.
