Significant Honor Is Bestowed on Population Health Management Firm at the AMGA Annual Conference
Phytel, a leader in physician-led health improvement, today received the Distinguished Corporate Partner Award from the American Medical Group Association (AMGA) at the AMGA 2010 Annual Conference in New Orleans. Donald W. Fisher, Ph.D., CAE, President and Chief Executive Officer of the AMGA, presented this prestigious award to Steve Schelhammer, Chief Executive Officer of Phytel, for the company's commitment to quality and the value of its service to AMGA members.
"Phytel is in the forefront of efforts to empower physicians to more effectively manage their patient populations," commented Fisher. "By automating the process of identifying and contacting patients who need preventive and chronic care, Phytel helps medical groups and other organized systems of care ensure that they are following the latest evidence-based protocols in these areas. We look forward to continuing our collaboration with this valued partner to improve the quality of care and care coordination—both of which are certainly needed to reduce the burden of chronic illness on patients as well as on our healthcare system."
"We are honored to be recognized by the AMGA with this award," Schelhammer commented. "The AMGA has long been a leader in the quality improvement arena, and we greatly appreciate its acknowledgement of the value that Phytel's offers to its members. Through our work with AMGA groups and the American Medical Group Foundation, we will continue to support the association in its efforts to show that the coordinated care model provides the highest quality, most cost-effective and most efficient care."
More than 40 AMGA members use Phytel's services, including some of the largest and best-known group practices. AMGA vision is for multispecialty medical groups and other organized systems of care to be the preferred delivery system for patient-centered, coordinated, efficient, quality health care.
