LONDON, March 22 (Reuters) - A two-in-one prostate drug from GlaxoSmithKline has won approval in Switzerland, its first European market, the British-based drugmaker said on Monday.
Following the green light for Duodart from Swissmedic, the company's European head, Eddie Gray, said he expected further approvals and launches across Europe during 2010.
Duodart is the first fixed dose combination medicine for prostate enlargement, or benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). It combines Glaxo's established drug Avodart, or dutasteride, with Astellas Pharma's off-patent product Flomax, or tamsulosin.
